Naptime Follies Part 56?

Those of you with toddlers know exactly how frustrating nap time can be. Some days they just aren't going down for anything. Other days they amazingly fall asleep within minutes of laying in bed.

Some of the days when they just won't go to sleep they end up messing around and getting into trouble. Last week we had a few of those days. One of those days he spent his nap time taking all the books off my bookshelf. Amazingly that wasn't the most frustrating day.

In one day, after about the 5th time I checked on him, I had to change his stinky diaper. I don't know what it is, but for some reason he waits to go until I lay him down for his nap. Every day, about 10-15 minutes after I lay him down, I have to go change his diaper.

About the 15th time I checked on him, he was sitting up taking his socks off. I put them back on and laid him back down.

Around the 17th time I checked on him, he was sitting there in bed, no clothes on, pants on his head. Of course I had to run and get the camera, snap his picture and email it to dad :)

After all that excitement, about 15 minutes later he started crying, and it was his "hurt" cry, so I ran back there, wondering what he could have gotten himself into... and here he was with his finger stuck in a string loop, which he twisted around his finger, from his bedtime buddy Eeyore. I ran and got the scissors to cut the loop and free his finger... then cut all the rogue strings coming out of Eeyore...

Amazingly, when I went to check on him 10-15 minutes later he had finally fallen asleep. Of course by that time baby sister was awake... I should have spent more time relishing in their simultaneous naps for the month or so that they actually happened ;)

I hate that. Nap time is the only thing that keeps me sane

The diaper thing happens to us too. And the days he just won't go down for his nap? Oh, man.

That is funny. It reminds me of nap time at my house too. I try to put my two little ones down at the same time. My three year old always manages to find excuses to get out of taking her nap.
