Tea anyone?

What better to do in the arctic zone than have a tea party with the kids? The kids have been horribly bored since we've been stuck inside all week because of the -20s temps.

This morning it was actually -36! For some reason the temp in the town I live in is always at least 5 degrees colder than all the towns around us. We actually have the coldest recorded temp in Wisconsin of -55 in 1996! I'm just glad we weren't here then! -36 is bad enough. I think that's the coldest its been here since we've lived here. Everything was closed today, even the towns and banks closed. Every place except for where my husband works was closed that is... :( Thank God we remembered to plug the car in last night! Even plugged in it didn't want to start this morning! Hope everyone is keeping warm!

Just Checking my Computer and Drinking My Coffee

Santa Claus brough D his very own Lightning McQueen computer for Christmas. Its one of those Vtech things that has games and learning activities. Pretty cute. Of course he doesn't really know how to use it yet, but that certainly does not stop him from having to check his Lighting McQueen computer several times a day. And of course, if anyone else has thier laptop out, he must sit next to them with his going. He keeps saying "gotta check my lighting mcqueen computer." And of course, here he is, insisting that he has "coffee" not "juice." And where do you suppose he got that one from? ;)

Hat Modeling at its Finest ;)

PhotoStory Friday

Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

I love to crochet hats! Baby B absolutely hates to wear hats!
I've made her several hats, but she just will not keep them on. I made a couple of hats last year, one was for one of my toddler nieces, but it ended up too small so I figured that B would fit it eventually. And it does fit her this year ;) It was a little challenging to get her to leave the hat on long enough to take a picture! Most pics ended up like this first one.
But I was able to get one good one!

This hat I made for her last winter, but it ended up too big for her then, but looks like it fits good this year! This one is an ear-flap hat, so I just need to finish it up and make the ties. She'll have a hard time getting this one off when its tied :)
Ahhhh. Hat modeling session finally over!

The Stacker ;)

Ever have this happen? You leave the room for a few minutes only to return and see that your pantry has been raided? And the little raider has decided that he would much rather have the pantry in a place more accessible, such as the bench at the kitchen table. And he would also appreciate the cans being stacked instead of having one can behind another. More visible this way.

Caught in a Quiet Moment

PhotoStory Friday

I just love this picture of my little boy. He's at that point where he is suddenly growing up all to quickly. He turned 3 in September, and he has just been full steam forward ever since. I'm sure it's been happening all along, but I swear that daily he is making huge mental leaps.

You can almost see a mental leap forward in this picture :) he's caught pondering something, some new concept. Some new idea. Maybe some new scheme? (I kid).

And those of you with 2-4 year old boys (or girls for that matter) know how precious such a quiet moment like this is ;)

Car Seat Follies

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

These aren't quite the greatest pictures, but they go along with my Wordless Wednesday (photos of baby B having fun tearing apart the visor part of her car seat).

I've been pretty disgruntled with this car seat for a while now. Ever since B started realizing she could tear things apart and put them in her mouth... she discovered that there was a stash of fuzz on the underside of the fabric on the car seat.

Now baby B is quite the fuzz connoisseur, so imagine her delight at finding such a stash! The first time she got a chunk of it and started choking on it I was going to get some duct tape and fix it up. But then I realized that the entire backing was that way, so I didn't want to ruin the car seat. Anyway, just prior to her destruction of the visor, I had to pull over and fish fuzz out of her mouth. And of course when we got home and I took the photos of her, there she is trying to hand me a chunk of fuzz that would have made it to her mouth had I not been standing right there.

Needless to say, I went out the very next day and bought a new car seat! And I made sure that this one's fuzz was better contained! :)
