I suppose with potty training on the mind, my son has come up with some pretty strange ideas...
Last night at the dinner table: "Don't fart in your ice cream D, don't you fart in your ice cream."
I have no idea how he even comes up with this stuff. I can only imagine that he is thinking about where and when it's appropriate to fart/poop. But he said that the whole time he was eating ice cream last night.
And I think he's got the two a little confused. Or maybe not... The other day while I was changing his poopie butt - "Oh no mom, it's just a fart" Believe me, it was not just a fart.
And now, every time I lay him down to change his diaper "Don't you poop on the floor D, don't poop on the floor." "Don't you poop on the couch D, don't you poop on the couch."
And we are still laughing at his telling himself not to poop on dad's back at Copper Falls.
His other big thing now is "tomorrow."
"Do you want to poop in the potty chair D?"
"Oh no mom. Tomorrow. Go potty in the potty chair tomorrow mom."
The boy is too much like me. Already procrastinating.
Speaking of... I have to teach "motivation" tonight... guess I'll have to find some myself ;)

Potty training is absolutely the most time consuming milestone. LOL! It's too funny how he relates pooping to everyday things. He's figuring it out in his mind and he'll get their soon! Good Luck!
I've known grown men who confuse them too! ;)
I dread the day that my children learn to actually use the word "fart." I've never been a fan of the potty humor... But I'm a big fan of the potty! My oldest (at almost 3 1/2 mind you) FINALLY seems to be potty trained. And his 2 year old sister is now showing interest. I love my babies - but boy do I look forward to the day when the bathroom door will be closed - you know, like as a general rule!
"And we were still laughing at his telling himself not to poop on dad's back at Copper Falls."
Oh man. Too preciously funny.
Yeah Im not sure why poop is so funny my son thinks its a riot too now that I think about it so does my hubby...ahh now I see a conection
Don't fart in your ice cream is SO going to be his blog name someday, you do know that, right? :)
@ Honeywine & Suzie: LOL!! Guess boys never outgrow such things :)
@ MamaGeek: LOL!!! One could only hope.
Hahaha MamaGeek!
That could also be the title of your tell-all book about parenting.
That is too funny!
I am so glad you posted about this today. My daughter keeps saying "yesterday" much like your little one says "tomorrow."
She says, "yesterday...when I was born...I had an apple," when really she had it for lunch.
Haha! That sounds like my boy :) He still doesn't have the hang of pooping in the potty and frequently has "accidents." He always tell me that it was "just a fart." :)
@ Momisodes: too funny!
@ Michelle M.: where do they get this stuff? LOL!!
